Dr. Doh-Yeon Kim was a professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and Dean of the College of Engineering at Seoul National University. In 2008, Dr. Kim was appointed the first Minister of Education, Science and Technology and worked for the integration of education and science and technology policies.
Subsequently, he served as the President of the University of Ulsan and later as President of Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH). He also contributed to the promotion of science and technology and research and development in Korea. He also served as the President of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea and as the Chairman of the National Science and Technology Commission.
Currently, he is serving as Chairman of the Board for Ulsan Industry Education Foundation, and Taejae Future Consensus Institute.
